Really Simple Syndication - Rich Site Summary

An RSS feed is an XML web page that consists of a list,
each item in the list has:

The content comes to the user as a list of "articles".
or as an audio or video podcast

The RSS information from the web site
is used by an RSS aware program
to display the syndicated article

Text articles, audio and video can be syndicated.

Text RSS feeds are referred to as blogs or news feeds.
Audio and video RSS feeds are generally called podcasts.

Even though the name is derived from the iPod,
you do not need to use iTunes or an iPod.

Podcasts have become so popular that there are many choices
and all operating's systems have news reader and podcast software available.

Just to make things more confusing most RSS clients will try to handle more than one type of feed.
Text news readers will also download audio and video. Video clients will also handle audio feeds

I recommend at least using a specialized client for text and one for audio/video. I

Use the combination of software that works best for you.
