ColorVision

ColorVision makes color profiling software and hardware. By creating profiles for your printer and monitor you can get a much closer match between what you see on the screen and what you get from your printer.

WinHex If you memory cartridge gets corrupt and you have trouble getting you photos off of it, WinHex can help you recover those photos. Two SIG members have recovered irreplaceable photos using this utility.
SilverFast Scanning software that is a step up from the software that comes with your scanner. If you have a high end scanner consider this if you don't already have it. If you have a mid-range scanner and are willing to put some time and money into getting better scans, you should consider SilverFast.
JAlbum JAlbum is a free Web photo album and slide show generator that is easy to use, yet incredibly versatile. FlipAlbum
Free 		Software that creates customizable 3D photo albums. You can put them on disk and give them to clients, friends and relatives. The viewing interface is just like flipping through a traditional photo album. Great for making wedding, bar mitzvah, travel and other albums.

For the hard core geek or the files purist.

Backup the metadata in your original files because all image editing programs change it in some way. It also allows you to view and edit the metadata, and export it to other formats.
