When making masks and selections of complex things, like hair,
it is very easy to make a mistake
and eliminate part of the image you wanted to keep.
Here is one way to correct this type of error.

If the image you made the selection from is in another file, open that files.
If it is another layer in the same file, make sure the layer is visible.

If your source is in another file, enlarge it onscreen to 300% or more. You want it to be easy to see and work with individual pixels.

Enlarge the destination file onscreen to 300% or more. You want it to be easy to see and work with individual pixels.

Locate the spot you want to fix. (You can hold down shift to turn the mouse pointer into a hand so you can drag the image around.)

Find a part of the image where you can identify a specific pixel.

Then go to the original file or layer and find the same spot.

Switch to the clone stamp tool. Set the the Brush Size to 1.

Alt?Opt Click on that specific pixel to set the cloning source.

Go to your destination layer.

Make sure the Aligned checkbox is checked on the toolbar.

Click on the same pixel to start painting.

You can now reset the diameter of the cloning tool and you will be able to paint the original image back in.
