Laura Balsam Classes Outlines	Introduction to Digital Photography Using Picasa Picasa Gloessary Most of these terms are general graphics terms. They may have a speciifc menaing and implementation in Picasa.
Album	A group of photos. Ih Picasa the photo file exists in a folder. When you add the photo to one or more albums all the album contains is a pointer to the original photo. A separate copy of the photo file is not placed in the album.
Filter	When you turn on a filter you are telling Picasa only to display those photos that match the filter's criteria For exmaple, the star filter only shows photos you have previously marked at starred.
Import	Bring photos into your Picasa library, either by using Picasa to copy them to your hard drive or by telling Picasa where the are on your hard drive(s) and telling Picasa to include them in it's library.
Keywords	One or more workd you assign to a picture. Also known as "tagging" the picture. Once these keyword are associated with photos, you can search for photos by keyword.
