Introduction to Digital Photography Using PicasaSending Photos by E-mail |
Before you send photos for the first time make sure to setup your Picasa e- mail options. |
|
| Click on Options in the Tools menu. | |
The E-mail Program options may be different depending on what e-mail programs Picasa found on your PC when it was installed. Make sure to set the size when you are sending one pictures and when you are sending multiple pictures. If the pictures are only to be viewed 480 is a good size. Larger sizes will print better. It is rarely a good idea to send photos in their original size. Depending on the file size your camera creates these could be huge. They may be rejected by the receivers e-mail service as too big or take a long time to download. |

| Unless they are to be printed or destined for a document or slideshow created by the receiver, never send full size images. | |
| Select an album, folder or individual photos you want to send in and e-mail and press the e-mail button at the bottom of the screen. | |
Depending on the e-mail software installed on your machine and the program you have selected as your default e-mail program you may be given different choices. In my case I could send via Google Mail, Gmail, this brought up a special screen that allows me to enter addresses and a subject line. I can also edit the text of the message. The pictures appear in the body of the message. My other choice is Outlook Express, my default e-mail program. Selecting OE creates a message with a the photos as attachments, They do not appear in the body of the message. |
