Introduction to Digital Photography Using Picasa

Using Albums
to Make Screensavers

You can always view the photos in an album as a slideshow by clicking the Play button, you can set that slideshow to be your screensaver on your machine.

When you installed Picasa it automatically installed a screensaver on your machine called Google Photos Screensaver.

Any pictures you put in an album called Screensaver album will be displayed in the Google Screensaver. Create this album like any other album, or rename an existing album to Screensaver.

You can set this to be your machine's screensaver by selecting Configure Screensaver from the Tools menu.

This will bring up the Windows screensaver configuration box. Press the Settings button to configure any screensaver options.

This screensaver can only be used on your machine. For someone else to use your photos as a screensaver they must also have Picasa installed.

  • You upload your album as a web album (see web albums below).
  • The other person downloads the web album.
  • They copy the files to the Google screensaver album on their machine.
